Today is a magical day. I'll give you three reasons why.
1. It's Groundhog Day!
The legend is that if the groundhog in Pennsylvania doesn't see his shadow, spring will come early. Punxatawney Phil did not see his shadow this morning, so HOORAY! Spring is coming. It won't seem like it here in Utah; tomorrow morning we are expecting a big ol' storm. But good job Phil!
Another fun thing involving a groundhog is this darling video I saw this morning about a groundhog named Chunk who eats vegetables from a garden. The dude who planted the garden noticed that he was missing a bunch of veggies, so he set up a camera to find out what was raiding his garden. Just watch the video. If you've already seen it, just watch it again, because we all need to smile more. Turn up the volume. The words and sounds are precious.
2. It's Super Bowl Sunday!
Who doesn't love an excuse to watch football and drink beer and eat food that's not healthy? I will also read during the game, so it's a win, win, win, win situation for me. Here's hoping the Kansas City Chiefs win the game, but honestly I wouldn't be sad if the San Francisco 49ers win either. Both teams are fun to watch.
3. It's Palindrome Day!
No matter how you look at it, no matter how you turn it around, today is the perfect palindrome. Here is the U.S., we usually look at days as month/day/year = 02/02/2020. In Europe, the date is usually looked at and day/month/year = 02/02/2020. Sometimes the year is first followed by the month and year = 2020/02/02. I love that kind of stuff!
And an extra bonus reason - it's Kevin's birthday!
