Indulge me a little, please. I need to rant.
Oscar nominations were released today. I didn't even know they were expanding the Best Picture list to 10 movies. That's too many! I liked five movies in the category. MT explained to me that the change was made so the list would be more inclusive, but I don't like the change. I haven't even heard of a couple of the movies.
Not like it matters, anyway. I'm sure "Avatar" will win. If James Cameron or Peter Jackson make a movie, it will be in the Best Picture category. Both have movies in the category this year. "District 9"? Really? No, I haven't seen it, but isn't it about aliens? Oh, yeah, "Avatar" is about aliens too.
Anyway, I don't like the 10 movie idea.
This afternoon I was listening to the Dan Patrick Show on the radio. (I love Dan Patrick!) He was talking about the idea that is floating around to expand the 64-team field in the NCAA basketball tournament to 96 teams. 96! NO! That's just too many. NCAA people, listen to me! The tournament is not broke! Don't try to fix it! 64 teams is great. The length of the tournament is wonderful. Don't mess with a good thing, for goodness sake.
I don't like the 96 team idea.
In the movie "Sabrina", Sabrina tells Linus, "More isn't always better. Sometimes it's just more."
I'm done now. Look! A post without mention of food. But remind me next time to give you the recipe for the chicken and dumplings I made on Sunday. They were delicious!
was the chicken & dumplings recipe from the Family Flavors cookbook? we made that the other night too and it was awesome!
