#338 "out" on a school night

It's funny how things change, or how our idea of what things mean changes. Tonight we went "out" - we went to Target to get curtains for the front room, to Game Stop for T, and for a bite to eat. Remember when "going out" meant going to a bar or a club? MT and I were pleased as punch that we were "going out" tonight. Even T commented on how it's fun to go out sometimes, not just hang out at home in front of the TV. We all agreed that it was fun. And you know what? It was!

Here are a couple of random things I was thinking about today, since I didn't know what to write about.

  • Email from Syrie James. Remember a few days ago when I wrote about how I'd sent an email to the author of "The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen"? Well, she wrote back! Or at least her assistant or publicist or someone did. She just thanked me for writing to her and said she was glad I liked the book and that she enjoyed writing it. She encouraged me to let her know if I like her other books as well. It's nothing big, but I thought it was nice.

  • Real Salt Lake (RSL) won the Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup last night, defeating the Los Angeles Galaxy in a shoot-out. I don't really follow MLS all that much, but I do pay a little attention to RSL because they are here and I can read about them in the paper. T and I did go to a game this summer, and it was cool. One of the RSL players, Kyle Beckerman, is cute. He has dreadlocks.
  • We've lived in Salt Lake City for 13 years. That's longer than I lived in Pocatello. The fact just tripped me out when I thought about it yesterday!
  • I bought the new John Mayer CD while I was at Target tonight. I can't wait to listen to it. I think he's really great, and he has a song with the omnipresent Taylor Swift on the CD.

I'm writing on T's computer and I always have problems with the line spacing on this machine for some reason. Sorry if it looks weird.

That's all I've got for tonight!
