#360 the greatest Jr Jazz game ever

We just got home from watching what may go down in Jr. Jazz history as the finest game ever played. At least that's what T says. It was the last game of the season, and T's team was playing the team they beat the first game of the season. The other team has improved a lot over the course of the season, and I think all their players grew at least six inches. They were all tall - even the girls!

The other team came out strong and took an early lead. T's team didn't give up, though. They hung in there, keeping the score close, but never taking the lead.

Finally, with just over a minute left in the game, T's team made a basket to make the score 22 - 21. It was the first time T's team had been ahead the whole game? Could they play good defense over the last minute to win and go undefeated this season?

Both teams were scrambling as the final seconds ticked away. No one was able to score any baskets because of the tight defense that was being played. Every kid out on the court was scrambling for the ball. If the ball came loose, three or four kids were on the floor wrestling for it.

With about ten seconds left, the other team shot the ball and missed. T grabbed the rebound. A kid from the other team reached in a grabbed it. The ref called a jump ball, and the possession arrow was pointing T's team's way, so T's team took the ball out of bounds. There were about six seconds left on the clock. T threw the ball inbounds, and it was stolen by the other team. The kid who stole the ball launched a shot. We all held our breath.

The ball sailed way over the basket.

Time ran out, the buzzer sounded, a roar went up from the parent's of the kids on T's team. T and his teammates ran around giving each other high fives and jumping around. Undefeated! A come-from-behind victory! It was awesome!

Coach Scott did a great job with the team this year. It was his first season coaching, and he was so good with the kids, keeping it fun for everyone. I'm glad that my dad could come to watch T play two games this year. I know that T LOVED having his grandpa in the stands. A bonus was that my BFF LA was here today too!

Man, I love basketball!
