Sunday night once again. Weekends go by fast.
Yesterday was our 27th wedding anniversary. It's usually a pretty mellow celebration, (unless it's a big anniversary that ends with a zero or a five). This year was extra mellow. We took the pup for a walk at the park, then MT went to do a bit of work. In the afternoon we shared an order of super nachos, turned on a basketball game, and took a nap. Later we had cookies from Crumbl. Much later we drove out to the west desert and looked at the stars. It was the last night of the Perseid meteor showers. We only saw a couple of meteors, but the sky was spectacular. We could clearly see the Milky Way as well as Jupiter and Saturn. We don't have a telescope or anything, but I do have an app, Skyview, that was helpful in identifying stars, constellations, and planets. (Thanks for the tip about the app, Mom!) We didn't plan very well and found that we were quite chilly out there in the desert and didn't have jackets or a blanket. I had to turn on the heater in the car to warm us back up after we stared at the sky for about half an hour.
Since Saturday was a lazy day, as most of them are, I told myself that I needed to accomplish five things today and that I couldn't even take a nap until those five things were done. I pushed through my fatigue (went to bed late, pup woke me up early) and finished my tasks. When I finally allowed myself to be still, I was asleep in moments. What a great nap!
Mac had a fun day. We went for a walk this morning and covered almost two miles - her longest walk yet. MT took her over to play with some dogs at a friend's house for an hour or so. When she got home, she was a tired pupper. Of course, she was ready to go out for the evening walk around 7 pm, so we went out again to the park. Now she is crashed out on top of the vent here in the computer room as I write. The dog's got a good life.
I hope y'all had a good weekend!
It sounds like a pleasant day :)
