Today I am thankful for the seasons that allow me to change up my wardrobe. Where I live, in the Salt Lake Valley, it is either hot or cold. We have a few weeks where it is pleasant by which I mean we don't have to have the heater or the air conditioner running. The windows can be open and the house is comfortable. Those are my favorite times, and they are short-lived. Usually the temperature is hot or it is cold.
I'm okay with the extremes though, because it means I have two wardrobes. I put away my warm weather wardrobe this afternoon. I said good-bye to my short-sleeve shirts, skirts, and capris for about six months. Since I've been working at home a lot this year, there were a lot of clothes that I didn't even wear this year. I think I'll wear them next year though, so I didn't get rid of much.
It's fun to change out the clothes. In the spring when I changed out the wardrobe, I did get rid of a bunch of things, so everything I pulled out today is clothing that I really like. Even though I'm not super-excited about really cold days to come, I am excited to wear my sweaters and pair cardigans with scarves and layer long-sleeve t-shirts with vests. I even have different shoes for the different seasons. Last year I bought a couple of pairs of ankle boots and I'm kind of giddy at the thought of wearing again.
Don't even get me started on fleece. I love fleece. It's so cozy. When MT and I used to go shopping at Eddie Bauer (we haven't been for awhile), I would be drawn to the fleece and MT would always ask me if I really needed more fleece. The answer, of course, is yes.
So here's to cooler temperatures and the appropriate clothing for those chilly days.
