#2630 Saturday with Sandy

I feel the need to apologize for some of the posts this week. They were half-assed, at best. Lately, I have been wondering what the heck I am doing here. Do people even blog anymore? Is it a thing? Why am I doing this? Then I tell myself that I committed to writing here every day this month, and I need to honor that commitment to myself, at least.  I will give sincere effort into making the next 17 posts more worthwhile.

Gosh, I love Saturdays! I slept until the dogs woke me up around 6:45. After I fed them, I climbed back in bed and played with my phone. Those Buzzfeed quizzes are silly and fun time-wasters. When I tired of the quizzes, I actually read a book. Today was book club day, and I had about 50 pages to read to get through the section we were discussing.

At 10:30, I went to Zumba class. It was fun! I like the instructor, and the class is pretty small, so there's plenty of space. I hadn't been for awhile, and it felt good to move and sweat. After class, I came home, showered, had lunch, and turned on the Utah/Arizona football game. I also participated in book club, then it was nap time. I managed to get through the end of the football game - Utah won! - and I changed over to the Jazz game. I laid on the couch and pulled up a blanket, so I was cozy. Harley laid on my feet. Mac was by my face for awhile, then she moved to the floor, then back to my face and at one point I think she was on top of me, but I slept pretty hard for about an hour or so.

When MT got home, we had our "Money Date". We hadn't had a money date since July, and we felt like it was important to get back into the groove. The concept is that we spend an hour talking about our finances and our plans for the future. We talk about my retirement and how we are going to afford it. We talk about our properties and building our "empire". LOL  It is a good conversation and helps us make sure we are on the same page with what we want.

One thing we both want is to do more travelling. We did not vacation together at all in 2020. He went to the Outer Banks with his family in May, and then on the big backpacking trip with his brother in August/September. I went to California for a week, then Lizzie and I went to Costa Rica. We have both been out in the world, but not together. Yesterday, MT floated the idea of going on a beach vacation in February. He suggested an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. In the past, we have talked about a trip to Spain and France, so I suggested looking into a Mediterranean cruise. Now we are both all excited about the possibility of the cruise. What I like about cruising is the opportunity to see a few different places. It's like getting a little sample of a place. The ship itself is also nice and the food is always amazing.

I also want to take another trip with Lizzie. We have a trip to Crete on the calendar for October, but we might be having second thoughts about it? My mom has talked a few time about going on a leaf-peeping tour in the fall. There are just so many cool places to see! Definitely more to come on the travel bug!

I've got some big plans for tomorrow. I don't know how many of them will actually happen, but I'll let you know all about it tomorrow night.
