#371 a list

A few things to share tonight:

1) T had a great report card - all As and one B+, and he is doing very well in his citizenship/personal development. I'm really proud of him! He works hard on his homework, when he has it, and I'm thrilled that he's smart and motivated. Good job, boy!

2) My car is in the shop being fixed. The insurance company of the lady who hit me is paying for everything, including the rental car that I'm driving this week. It's a Dodge Caliber. It's really cute on the outside, but pretty basic on the inside. I will be happy to have my Toyota back. My car should be done by Friday. The guy at the shop found a couple of things that the claims adjuster missed, like the headlight was broken on the inside. Not the light itself, but a bracket. I knew I heard little parts falling off of the car when I drove it home after the wreck.

3) MT and I are proceeding with the flipper house. Have I mentioned it before? It's a total fixer-upper that needs a lot of love and attention. I'm sending the paperwork to our lender tomorrow. An appraisal has been ordered and we'll see what happens. I know that MT is very excited about it and I'm trying to be patient and positive about the whole thing. Wish me luck.

4) I went field tripping with T's class on Tuesday. We went to a performance by the Utah Symphony. I thought it was cool. I've never been to the symphony before. T thinks it's boring, but I was entertained. I don't know that I'd want to go to a full-on symphony performance. Tuesday's performance was an hour and they mostly played pieces that I knew or had heard even if I didn't know the composer of the name of the piece. Like that "Beef: It's What's for Dinner" piece is by Aaron Copland and is called "Hoedown." Remember the beef commercial?

5) After vacation I thought it was important to have things to look forward to this year, and I do. Here's my list: April - Fiddler on the Roof at Hale Center Theater, trip to Las Vegas to celebrate Dad's 70th b-day; June - U2 in concert, Sting in concert, fixing up the flipper (ok, not really looking forward to that, but trying to be positive!); August - Lion King! I'll also try to fit in a weekend or two in Pocatello throughout the summer, and of course, Salt Lake Bees baseball!

6) I'm learning to speak Spanish! During my review at work I mentioned that I would like to learn Spanish. I think it would not only benefit me personally, but it would be a benefit to the company also. They agreed and purchased Rosetta Stone software. I started working with the software on Sunday, and it's really cool. I'm excited about it! Mom, I'll even try to speak Spanish with you when we meet in LV in April!

OK, that's all I've got for tonight. I apologize for the long Barbados post. It made me realize that I should break it up a little better. Next time I write, I'm going to write about the sailboat excursion we took off Palm Island. I'm going to break it up into at least 2 segments so it will be easier to read.

Adios
