#610 about photos, redecorating, and movies vs. books

Here's what I learned this week: the Picture of the Day project is sort of challenging. Sunday and Monday, I knew what my picture would be. On Sunday I knew I would take Osi for a walk and I'd take a picture out there. On Monday, MT and I went to the Jazz game, and I knew that would be my picture. The other days, Tuesday through today? We haven't done anything or gone anywhere, except to work, and my pics are kind of boring. Well, at least I took the pictures. This weekend I'm going to take my flash drive over to Wal-Greens and have this week's pics printed to put in my book. The up-side is that I'm now thinking about things to take pictures of and that means doing stuff, too, so I'll have subject matter!

Still reading the book about Tuscany. Today's chapter focused mostly on her home, Bramasole, and what she's learned about herself by living there in that house. The way she talks about the house is almost like the house is a living, breathing friend. I don't feel that way about my house. I like my house just fine, but I don't really have much of an eye for decorating and making it homey. The house is pretty much just somewhere I land at the end of a long day. I like my furniture.

Another one of my goals or resolutions this year is to spend some time pretty-fying the rooms in my house. I have a few ideas floating around here and there. The problem is that all of my ideas cost money and I'm sort of cheap plus the afore-mentioned problem of not having much style. I'm going to work on it though. I'll probably take pictures of the events.

MT has big plans to update the kitchen this year. I told him that it sounded great, but first he has to finish a couple of other projects he has started and not quite completed. He agreed.

My ideas aren't quite as drastic as MT's. I'm thinking new drapes in the front room, new artwork that's artfully arranged. In the bathroom, a new shower curtain and rugs. Maybe paint. Little things that will make a difference to me.

Well, it's late (for me, especially since I wake up at 5 AM) but I think I'll try to watch a movie. I'm not really ready to go to bed yet and I've had a video from Blockbuster laying around for a week and I do want to see it. The movie is "One Day" with Anne Hathaway. I thought I'd see the movie, then read the book. Usually I like the book better and I read a book before I see the movie. Maybe I'll like the movie if I see it first. Usually the book is always better, right?

So this turned out to be a long random post. Welcome to your weekend, everyone! Have a good one!
