#636 Dip Day recipes thanks to Pinterest

Tomorrow at my work we are having "Dip Day." Everyone is invited to bring a dip or a treat of some kind and we kind of graze throughout the day. It started out as a simple day when a few of us brought chips and salsa or potato chips and some kind of dip. It has gradually taken on grander proportions - isn't that always the way? - and now it's quite a festival.

We haven't had Dip Day for awhile and one of the engineers actually requested that we have it soon.

I couldn't figure out what I wanted to contribute. Usually, to be honest, I just buy something like a cheese ball or I bring a bunch of crackers and chips. I don't put a lot of effort into it. I was planning on stopping by the store after work anyway, so I jumped on my favorite website, Pinterest, typed in "Dips" and a bunch of recipes came up. I decided to make one called Beer Dip. It's just cream cheese, a ranch dressing packet, a cup of shredded cheddar cheese and about a half a bottle of beer. I added bacon crumbles because bacon makes everything better. The recipe said to let it sit overnight so all the flavors would blend together. In the morning, I'll top it with a little more cheese, some more bacon crumbles and some green onion. You dip pretzels into it. I licked the spoon and it was yummy. I can't wait to try it!

Then because I had a few ripe bananas laying around, I made a banana cake. The recipe is also from Pinterest and it's actually called Monkey Squares, but mine looks a lot more like a cake than bars. My frosting is more like frosting than like a glaze, but it tasted damn good when I licked the spoon! I can't wait to try it! (Did I say that already?)

By the way, if you haven't looked at Pinterest, what is the matter with you? That website is like crack! (I guess; I've never actually had crack, but I hear it's addictive.) Pretty much whenever I have a spare minute, I will click on the Pinterest app on my beloved iPhone and just see what's out there. It gives me happiness and joy, and lately, several really fun recipes!
