#2071 weekend wrap-up

Kind of a quiet weekend for me, which is really nice.

On Friday I volunteered at Red Butte Garden for a wedding reception. It was quick. The wedding had been earlier in the day at one of the LDS temples in the valley, then the wedding party had a meal somewhere and had a dessert reception at the Rose Garden. No music, no drinking (of course), just gifts and cake it sounded like. It was a perfectly lovely evening, weather-wise, and I enjoyed my time at the gate. I was home by 9:30, which was great also.

Saturday was good. WW, Zumba and docent time at RBG filled my morning and early afternoon. I came home and cooked up a light meal (salmon and rice), then the three of us went to see the latest Mission: Impossible movie. We all liked it. Lots of action moved it right along. It's been so hot outside that it was very pleasant to sit in a cool movie theater. The theater we went to has those cushion-y reclining seats. Decadent!

This morning MT and I followed our normal Sunday routine by going out for breakfast. We go to the same place and get the same thing and it totally works for us. After breakfast, he went over to the Kearns house to do a little work. T and I went to Starbucks. I stayed there to do a little writing and thinking. Spending an hour at Starbucks once a month with my planner and my journal has become a favorite pastime and something I look forward to. I call it "me time."

I miss my mom and my sister, so I spent a little time with each of them individually on the phone this afternoon. The three of us chat every Monday night, but I didn't want to wait until tomorrow. It was a pleasure for me.

Now I think I'm going to do a bit of laundry and do some reading. I just got a new book from the library and even though I have read just 30 pages, I feel like I could get totally into this one.

I hope you've all had a pleasant, relaxing and fun-filled weekend!
