#1347 the sleep experiment continues

For the past three nights, I have not read in bed at all. Instead, I just crawl into bed, set my sleep/relaxation sounds app for seven minutes, get into a comfortable position and start breathing. I take long, slow, deep breaths. I exhale equally slowly. While I breathe, I think about what I am grateful or thankful for. It doesn't take long before I am asleep. I have slept through the night and I don't even remember waking up to go to the bathroom.

When my alarm goes off in the morning, I hit snooze one time and I use those nine minutes to hover in that beautiful space between sleeping and waking.

I won't say that I haven't been tired. One of the reasons I decided to not read in bed is that I have gone to bed after 10:00 on Monday and Tuesday. Tonight I should hit the bed right around 10, so we'll see how I feel in the morning.

It's kind of strange to not read before I go to sleep, but I think my mind is more open and relaxed. I tend to think about what I was reading and that probably hinders my ability to get right to sleep.

I'll try the no reading practice for a couple more nights and see if I go to sleep as quickly as I have. I'm tired tonight! I keep yawning and my eyes are getting droopy so good night!
