Here I am hanging out with Buddy the Elf and Santa on Saturday!
This has been a great weekend!
It started on Friday night when MT and I went to dinner with several other couples from my work. We went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse which is a very nice restaurant downtown. MT and I can only afford to go there if someone else pays (heehee), so we were very pleased with the invitation. We had a great meal: appetizers of crab-stuffed mushrooms and calamari, a rib eye steak (cooked to perfection and served on a 500 degree plate so the meat is sizzling and tantalizing when it's set in front of you), sides of sweet potato casserole, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and asparagus, wine, and dessert. My dessert was an apple pie tart. I could only eat a small portion of it because I was so full. The meal was divine and the company was wonderful. We laughed and chatted and had a really nice time.
Before we left for dinner on Friday night, MT's mom and step-dad arrived at our house. They came down from Idaho to do a little Christmas shopping and to spend some time with us. On Saturday morning, MT and his parents headed out to do some shopping. I had a few things to do on Saturday morning - the usual exercise and WW meeting (no weigh in for me this week after eating that huge dinner late Friday night!). I also sent my Christmas package to my family. I felt really good about getting that package sent off so it will certainly be there before Christmas.
T and I then set off for some more Christmas shopping. I had to pick up some stuff for work, and also for MT and T themselves. It was a little tricky because T was with me, but we met up with MT and family at Target, so T went off with them and I was able to finish up all my shopping. (insert applause here!) I really, really think I'm totally done with what I want to get for people. I feel jolly!
Last night, the five of us went to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie. It was good, but I was really tired and I did fall asleep briefly a couple of times. Man, I'm getting old!
Today has been very quiet. I did go to the store with MT, and I went to yoga class, but other than that, I've been home in my sweats watching football and reading and doing a bit of laundry and other "Sunday stuff." I feel bad that I didn't get Osi out for a run in the park, but I didn't really have the energy, and now it's dark.
Now there's only six days until Christmas and I've got fun stuff planned every day this week! I hope that all of you have a wonderful week before Christmas, too :)
