On Monday at work, the people who were participating in Secret Santa got together for lunch and to guess who our Secret Santa was. As I've written previously, I loved my Secret Santa. I got great stuff! The Michael Buble CD was my favorite, and I got iTunes gift cards and hot chocolate mix and toffee and room scent and a few other things that I enjoyed receiving. I had a pretty good idea who my Secret Santa was, and I couldn't wait to tell her how great she is!
So there we all were, sitting around the table and it was my turn to guess. "Kelsie!" I said with authority and joy. Kelsie looked at me, laughed, and said, "Nope!"
ARRRGG!
My next guess was wrong. And the next one and the next one and the next one. In fact, I was the last person to get their Secret Santa and I only got it because he was the only person left. It was Brian!
He was a tricky Secret Santa. One day he came in and I had the bag of toffee (from him, but I didn't know that!) sitting on my desk. He asked what it was and I told him and he asked if he could have a piece. I offered him the sack and he took some, saying that it was very chewy and tasty. Then we talked about the Michael Buble CD and he asked me to burn him a copy. I did and he sent me an email thanking me. At that time, I wrote back, "Wouldn't it be funny if you were my Secret Santa and you're just messing with me?" He wrote back that I would be fun to buy for, but not this time. LIAR!! :)
Also, one time he walked in a handed me a gift. Unprecedented! I thought he was Kelsie's elf! GRRR!!
Anyway, it was pretty funny and everyone got a good giggle out of the fact that I was so clueless this year. Brian did a great job and I truly appreciated everything he gave me. The final gift was fun, too. He gave me some dog cookies and a toy for Osi, a really great water glass (BPA free with a straw - I drink a lot of water!) and a Barnes and Noble gift card. YAY!
The person I gave gifts to enjoyed what I gave her too, and she actually was the first person in the whole group to guess correctly. Maybe my gifts are too much the same year to year. I had fun shopping for her because she is a cool lady.
I don't talk too much about my work, but I have to say that I enjoy the people I work with quite a lot. Sometimes, the people I get to hang out with eight hours a day are the only thing that keeps me going there. As all work places can be, it gets a little stressful around the office sometimes, so it's nice to be able to vent and know it's going to be ok.
That's all I got for tonight. T just informed me that I didn't have to write anything tonight. I actually never HAVE to write, but I enjoy it and I had something to say. I'll be back on Thursday. Maybe I'll even try to kick it up to three times a week.

I love every post as you know :-) And I really love your stories about your life. It sounds like you have really good work-mates and that is so important. We don't have the secret Santa at my office but we do have our cooking in common. This year's cookbook just came out from the printers and it's almost gone!! I do have one copy and I hope to get yet another one but they are hard to get by.
I love my co-workers. We work hard and sometimes under stress but we also have a lot of fun together.
If I don't write before Christmas I do hope you will have a very Merry Christmas and I hope my Christmas gifts have arrived.
Love you <3 Mia
