#2022 musical Monday: four degrees of separation

Did you watch the live presentation of Jesus Christ Superstar last night?  I was a bit skeptical about it because the previous live musicals that NBC has presented were not all that great in my opinion. I don't even know the music to JCSS, but John Legend was in it and other people I was interested in, so I tuned in. I enjoyed the show very much. The cast was very, very good. I liked the staging and the costumes and the singing, well, all of it. I may very well watch it again.

So, with all that said, I would submit to you, friendly readers, that I, with some degrees of separation, declare that I know John Legend. Follow me.

John

This is John Legend. He is an Oscar and multiple Grammy winner. I have enjoyed his music for a long time. Get Lifted is my favorite album of his. I follow him and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, on Twitter and Instagram. I enjoy them both a lot. Last night John Legend played the title character in Jesus Christ Superstar Live. He was phenomenal. His vocal range is impressive.

Erik

This is Erik Gronwall. He played Simon in JCSS and sang the hell out of "Simon Zealotes". He was the manic blonde dude running all around. He also has an impressive vertical leap. He hopped easily right up on those tables in the show.

Erik is from Sweden. He is the leader singer of the rock band H.E.A.T.

Jona

This is Jona. He is also in H.E.A.T. He plays the keyboard, writes and sings. He's also my cousin, although we have never met.

Mia, Lizzie, T and me

The lady on the left in the black shirt is my Aunt Mia, my mom's half-sister. She is Jona's mom. I do know her! She is my link to John Legend!

LOL
