#1039 an unusual night

Usually when I get home from work during the week, I quickly put on my "relaxing clothes", cook dinner and sit around. Tonight was different.

Tonight when I got home, I gathered up the boys and we went to Walgreens to get our photos taken for our passports. We are going to the post office on Saturday to turn in our applications finally. Step one, getting a picture. The picture taking only took a few minutes, then we went over to Five Guys to get a burger for dinner. Even with all the prepping I did on Sunday, I didn't feel like cooking tonight. It happens.

After dinner, I wanted to go to the library. Last night I finished a book. In fact, I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it, so I had to have something new tonight. It was one of those magical times when I wanted to read the very first book I saw. It's called "The Orphan Master's Son." The county libraries are having their "One County One Book" thing, and this is the book. This book, by Adam Johnson, was also in the 2013 Tournament of Books. In fact, it was the champion, defeating my favorite book of the year, "The Fault in Our Stars." Now I'm really looking forward to reading this book! Could it possibly be more wonderful than the John Green novel? I don't see how it could.

When I got home from the library, I plopped myself down on the couch and watched "New Girl". In addition to the best character on TV right now, Schmidt, this week's episode had a special guest star, Taye Diggs.

What a delightful treat! Thank you, "New Girl"!

Do you remember Taye from the movie "How Stella Got Her Groove Back"? He is so dang handsome!

After the TV show, I helped MT on the computer for a few minutes, then you know what I did? I put on my pajamas. T didn't even give me too much grief because he thinks that with daylight savings time, it seems like it's 11 PM as soon as it gets dark.

Then I managed to putter around for an hour or so, and now it's nearly 10. I'm going to sign off now because I want to read a few pages of my book. Plus I want to write about the book I just read. Check out the 2013 Books page for that, ok?

See ya!

PS...just read over this and realized it's a bit rambling. All I can say is I'm a little tired and easily sidetracked tonight. :)
