Sorry about not posting yesterday! I wanted to, but just didn't get to it. MT and I went to Pocatello to attend the wedding reception of our friend Caz. He married his high school sweetheart, Ashley. Caz, of course, is the only child of my BFF LA. MT and I have known Caz since the day he was born and we wouldn't have dreamed of missing his wedding reception. Since they are LDS, Caz and Ashley were married in the Temple and as non-LDS people, MT and I couldn't actually attend the wedding. We were in good company, though; Caz's grandpa and aunt couldn't attend the actual wedding either. But, we were happy to be at the reception where we hung out with Aunt Jen and Grandpa Ray. :)
Caz looked handsome and happy. Ashley is a very pretty girl and she was a beautiful bride. Congrats to them!
After the reception, MT and I decided to go to one of our favorite restaurants in Poky, an Italian place called Buddy's. So delicious! It was in the parking lot that we discovered the rear driver's side tire was going flat. After we ate, we went to a gas station to put air in the tire. That's when we saw there was a nail or piece of metal in the tire. You could hear the air hissing out of the hole. Not good. We made it back up to MT's mother's house and since it was so late, we decided we'd just change the tire in the morning.
MT must have parked just right, because although the tire was low, it wasn't completely flat like we expected. We drove down the hill to a gas station, put some more air in the tire and headed over to a tire store. We went to Les Schwab and they fixed the tire and rotated all them and didn't charge us a penny. That's Les Schwab, ladies and gentlemen. Buy your next set of tires from Les Schwab. They are good people!
Tire fixed, feeling good, thinking happy thoughts about our new friends at Les Schwab, we headed over to another favorite Poky place, Butterburrs, to meet Kip and Tracy for breakfast. Kip is a life-long friend of MT's. They grew up together, got in trouble together, and remain friends to this day. Tracy, of course, is MT's sister. I admit that I was still a little full from my meatball sandwich the night before, but that didn't stop me from powering down Butterburr's famous cinnamon twist. I also ate some eggs, a bit of sausage and some hash brown potatoes. That all took place around 10:30 am. It's now 6:30 pm and I'm just barely thinking about maybe having a bowl of cereal or a little salad.
We got home around 3:00, and both of us took a nap. I fell asleep after reading a little on my bed. MT was watching TV and dozed off. What is it about driving that makes you tired like that? It probably had something to do with all that food we gobbled down, huh?
The first fun event of August is complete. MT and I talked about going to Park City tomorrow for the Arts Festival. We enjoyed roaming around there last year. Also tomorrow, we are expecting Cousin Andrew to spend the night. He's moving here from New Mexico or Washington and his apartment isn't available until Monday or something.
Then, later in the week, it's off to sunny So Cal to see my parents and pick up my boy! I'll enjoy a few days off from work :) T and I are planning to go to Disneyland!
