#547 new tunes for me

It's been awhile since I downloaded new music to my iPod, so I decided tonight was the night. I've been listening to the radio a little more - music, not just sports - so I've heard some songs that I like, and some that have just grown on me. Tonight I got 12 new songs:

Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5 w/Christina Aguilera
Did you watch "The Voice" in May and June? I guess Adam and Christina sang this song on the show; I missed that episode. But the tune makes me want to waggle my tushy around! Catchy. It has whistling in the chorus.

Pumped Up Kicks - Foster the People
101.9 The End was a radio station that I really liked here in SLC. It went off the air for awhile, but now it's back and they play good songs! I first heard this song several weeks ago and the chorus totally got stuck in my head. I've heard it a lot lately, and the song can be heard in the movie "Friends with Benefits." It has whistling in the chorus.

Good Life - One Republic
"To my friends in New York I say hello/my friends in Utah they don't know" I'm a sucker for a song with my state in the lyrics. Catchy! There's whistling in the chorus.

Give Me Everything - Pitbull feat. Ne-Yo and others
What can I say? I like Mr. Worldwide!

If I Die Young - The Band Perry
Lauren on American Idol sang this song and I liked it. It's on the radio all the time now, and it's stuck in my brain. Might as well have it anytime it pops in my head.

Knee Deep - The Zac Brown Band feat Jimmy Buffett
They had me at Jimmy Buffett. I stumbled on this song while I was looking at the iTunes 200. I previewed, I purchased. I really enjoyed the snippet. Can't wait to hear the whole thing!

I'm Into You - Jennifer Lopez feat Lil Wayne
My crush on J Lo lives on, long after American Idol has finished. And Marc Anthony never belonged with Jennifer anyway. He was WAY out over his skis with that one.

Every Teardrop is a Waterfall - Coldplay
Coldplay. Nothing more to say. They're great.

Super Bass - Nicki Minaj
I got the clean version. I don't like dirty words in songs. This song is catchy as all get out. I got a few Zumba moves I bust out for this one!

Toes - Zac Brown Band
"I got my toes in the water, my ass in the sand." That pretty much describes my perfect day. I think I might get into the Zac Brown Band. This is another one that I just sampled and purchased.

The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie - Red Hot Chili Peppers
The return of one of my favorite bands. Really looking forward to the whole cd coming out at the end of August. Please tour RHCP!

Fader - The Temper Trap
Another song I heard on 101.9 The End. I like the beat. Sounds kind of 80s-ish.

I mentioned on the first three songs that there is whistling in the chorus. I really dislike the sound of whistling. It just gets on my nerves. It's as irrational as my hatred of pickles, and I can't help it. On these three songs, I just try to ignore it and continue with my overall enjoyment of the beat. Just thought I'd let you know why I pointed out the whistling.

Going to sunny CA tomorrow! YAY!
