I used to be a big pop culture girl. I felt like I knew a lot about TV shows and movies and music and celebrities. I'm not so much there anymore. I still like all of those things, but I don't watch much TV, except for some reality shows and the ultimate reality shows - sports. I don't go to a lot of movies unless there's something that really calls to me. The last movie that called to me and that I saw on its opening weekend was "Moneyball." I read the book, and the movie was about baseball and starred Brad Pitt, looking cute. It was a win. I love music, but I'm not that adventurous, I guess. And celebrities, well, I find that when I pick up an issue of "US Weekly" I only know a few of the people they are writing about. I've never watched any of the "Real Housewives..." shows or "Teen Mom" and I don't really keep up with the Kardashians.
Except...when Kim married Kris Humphries. Kris played here in SLC with the Jazz when he was a rookie. We all hoped he'd be the next Karl Malone. That sure didn't happen. But he is big and strong and good-looking, so I was intrigued when he married Kim K. And now, a mere 72 days later, it's over.
I really just don't understand why the Kardashian's are famous. What did I miss? I mean, they are pretty girls, what with all that hair and boobs and butt. They don't seem very natural, though. I'm not saying they are implant-ful, but they are always so camera ready. That is so the opposite of how I live. I don't think I've ever been camera ready in my whole life.
One more little pop culture reference that caught my attention recently was that Justin Bieber's swagger coach moved on to a new gig. I have so many questions and comments about this! 1) What the hell is a swagger coach? Is it like a life coach who instead of helping you figure out who you are instead shows you how to project yourself? 2) Justin Bieber has swagger? Maybe it's the hair. 3) Will the swagger coach find someone new to coach in swaggeriffic ways? 4) You can teach someone how to have swagger? I kind of thought it was something you had or you didn't have.
Well, if someone can teach me, I could sure use a little boost to my swagger. I feel like my swagger has been dragging lately. Maybe I only have swagger when I'm tan. I certainly feel pasty and un-swaggerful right now.
That's all I got for today. Do better tomorrow!
