Every other Friday at my work we have a festivity that we call "15 Minute Friday". We have a big stack of random questions on 3 x 5 cards, and everyone picks a card. One of the ladies bakes some cookies (there's an oven in our break room) and the business staff gathers together for a cookie and a get-to-know-random-things-about-your-coworkers time.
Some of the questions are easy: What's your sign?
Some of the questions require more thought: Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself. (Then we get to guess which is the lie.)
My question today was: What was the best day of this week and why? When it was my turn, I had to pass and go last because I could not think of the best day. That made me feel a little blue. I finally settled on last Saturday (community service with T, Utes win, took a nap) but someone pointed out that Saturday was technically last week. I countered with the fact that it was within the last seven days, so I think it counts.
I want there to be something best about every day. On the side bar of this blog, I have a line for today's joy. It's just a place for a random little thing that made me feel happy that day, to remember something that brought me joy. It's pretty naive to think that every day could be the best, but every day should have a little bit of joy, don't you think?
