A week ago last Thursday, on the 16th, my boss asked if I would go to one of our offices in Central California to do some work. I agreed to go because I wanted to see the office and I was glad to help any way that I could. It was a little tricky because on the 17th, T and I left to visit my parents in Southern California - a trip that I had planned in December way before my dad got sick and had his surgery. T and I stayed until Monday morning, and we flew back to SLC.
On Tuesday the 21st, I was back on a plane on my way to Sacramento. Then I drove about an hour to get to the office in Stockton, CA. I wanted to write a bit on this blog, but I couldn't seem to get a connection.
I got back to SLC on Friday night. On Saturday, my in-laws came down from Idaho to help us do our taxes. They just left to go back home. It's a really pretty day today, but the forecast for tomorrow is rain and snow, so they wanted to drive home in nice weather rather than the rain. Can't blame them for that.
So the weekend at with my parents was good. Dad was still in the convalescent center, and we visited with him daily for several hours. I am happy to say that he was released yesterday, the 25th. He went into the hospital on January 9, so he's been away from home for quite awhile. I hope that he's done with hospitals and rehab places for awhile! I'm sure he and my mom feel the same! I want to go back to visit them now that he is home. The last time I saw Dad at his home was in August! I've been back several times, but he has been in the hospital or the rehab place each time I've visited.
The week in Stockton was fine. The weather was nice. It felt like spring! It was good to get out of the cold for a few days. I really miss home when I'm traveling by myself. The first night is ok because I can flip around the TV channels and read. I don't have to wash dishes or hassle the boy about homework or anything. I also miss my own friends at the office and being in the comfort of my own little world.
I still have two entries from my Olympic Diary. I'm going to go ahead and post them, even though my Olympic fever has cooled. I did enjoy reading the entries and remembering those fun days. I hope you did too!
