I really like Gwyneth Paltrow. She's pretty, has nice style and is entertaining and interesting. When I found out she had a blog, goop, I happily signed up to receive it every other week. She talks about different things, from cooking to house stuff to clothing to photos of her at movie premiers and other celebrity-type things.
Last week's issue was about fashion. There were several photos of her in different outfits along with accessories. There were links to each of the pieces she was showing. The first outfit was pretty cute. It was jeans with a white shirt and a red jacket along with shoes and jewelry.
Just for fun, I clicked on the link to find out more about the clothes. OH.MY.GOD!
These are not clothes for non-movie star people like me. The jeans are $220. The necklace, $990. The least expensive thing I saw on the page was a bracelet for $91. C'mon, G!
It just made me laugh. It's good that I can be entertained by the outrageous and content with what I have and what I can afford. There's no part of me that is even remotely interested in spending even close to that amount for any clothing. If I pay more than $30 for jeans, it physically hurts me. My stomach aches.
Then again, I don't expect Jose Andres, the chef, to call me up and say he'll come over to cook dinner either.
It's ok, Gwyneth. Thanks for making me laugh out loud!
