#662 too busy to write?

My goal was to post every day this month, but since my last post was on the 13th, I obviously won't accomplish the goal this month. What have I been doing that's kept me away from my keyboard? Let's think...

On Wednesday the 14th, I watched TV all night. I started with "Survivor", which flowed right into my guilty pleasure, "America's Next Top Model." I've been away from ANTM for a couple of cycles now, but this cycle is good. Tyra's got some British girls in the mix; it's American's vs. Brits. Good stuff! Last week, one of my favorite British girls totally had a meltdown at judging and ran off screaming obscenities and crying and yelling and crying some more. It was awesome! After ANTM, I watch some Ghost Hunters show, but I can't remember the name of it. Technically, it was on my TV but I was mostly playing Angry Birds and dozing off until "Ghost Hunters International" came on. GHI was doing some investigating at a Maya ruin in Belize which included a little ritual blood-letting by one of the investigators to get the Mayan spirits to come out to play. I was entertained.

On Thursday the 15th, I was lucky enough to get four tickets to a Jazz game! There are only three of us in my family, so T got to bring a friend. We had a great time! T's friend, Hagen, had never been to a Jazz game in a suite, and he was digging it. Maybe T got a renewed appreciation of how cool it is to see a game from the suite. We had dinner - taco bar! guacamole! - and the dessert cart came through. My friend James the sugar-pusher told the boys to get double dessert. You should have seen the slab of chocolate cake that T had. Between the sodas and the cake and the ice cream, the boys were totally sugared up. There was another kid who goes to their school in the suite with us and the three of them were having a great time. Hagen even got his face on the Jumbo-Tron! It was way fun!!

On Friday we were all tired. I fell asleep in my chair in the living room after a couple of episodes of "House Hunters International."

On Saturday we were pretty active. In the morning I did the gym and WW thing. (Three weeks in a row of losing more than one pound! YAY!!) In the afternoon, the three of us went to see the movie "21 Jump Street." Holy crap...that was funny! I laughed out loud and slapped my knee a few times. T was laughing so hard! He even whacked my arm at times. We all really enjoyed the show. We had a late lunch after the movie and did a little shopping. Good times!

Sunday I mostly puttered around the house. Did a little grocery shopping and laundry - just the usual Sunday stuff. I also bought a birthday cake for T. That was an adventure. He wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I couldn't find one at the Wal-Mart bakery. My favorite grocery store, Fresh Market, is closing and their bakery is already closed. I went to a third store, Smiths. I found a cake that was labeled chocolate cake/chocolate frosting. I asked them to write "Happy Birthday T" on it. They did. I paid for it and took it home and I saw another sticker on the side of the box that said White Cake. So which is it? White or chocolate? I cut a tiny slice. White! Crap! T was cranky. I called the store and explained my dilemma. No problem, they told me. Bring it back and we'll give you chocolate/chocolate. One thing...the chocolate/chocolate cake is decorated with Elmo. AWWW. So for T's 14th b-day, he had a chocolate/chocolate Elmo cake. :P

Happy birthday T!
