I have felt quite slow and a little dumb today. A friend of mine at work came into my office and said, "May the fourth be with you." I laughed because it sounded like he was lisping and today is the fourth and I thought it was clever and I said that I would say that every month on the fourth. My other friend looked at me like I might be slightly retarded. That's when it dawned on me...today is May 4th. May the 4th. Uh huh. Saying "June the fourth be with you," or "October the fourth be with you" just doesn't sound quite right. OY.
Happy Star Wars Day.
All day long I've been looking forward to seeing "The Avengers". Of course we didn't get to see it. It wasn't sold out, but the only seats available were in the first three rows, and who likes that? We asked about every showing until 10:00. There are shows starting about every half hour. I guess maybe we'll go on Sunday to a matinee. It will be less expensive and the seats will be better anyway.
So instead of seeing the movie, we went to dinner at Dickey's BBQ instead. My dad would love Dickey's. They serve fried okra there. T's friend Trent is hanging out with us tonight, so today's pic of the day is T and Trent chowing down on the two-meat plate (ham and Polish sausage for T; chopped brisket and pulled pork for Trent ). There was also quite the ice cream eating extravaganza for the boys - all three of them - in which MT and Trent got ginormous quantities of soft serve ice cream leaving T and a couple of little kids without any ice cream at all. Fortunately, the Dickey's folks were quick to refill the machine with soft-serve magic and the kids and T were able to get some ice cream. I even enjoyed a little ice cream.
You might be asking yourself, "Why don't you just go see 'The Avengers' tomorrow?" No time for that, my friends, because tomorrow night we'll be at the JAZZ GAME!! Gonna win Game 3! I hope.
