Tomorrow I am going to a new shop that MT told me about called Hapari. He saw their ad on Travel Channel and thought I would like what they have and a couple of stores here in Utah. We happen to live in between the two stores in this area. I think I'll go to the Kaysville store. I need at least one new swim suit. I don't wear swimsuits very much except when we are on vacation and I wear one every day for most of the day. You have to take at least two suits with you so one can dry out while you're wearing the other one. Last year, I think I had three suits and it was pretty ideal.
From what I've read, Belize is pretty laid back, so I'm just planning to take basics. I don't have to dress up to go anywhere. Shorts, tank tops and flip flops will do perfectly well for just about everywhere we go. I did buy some new shoes on Sunday. They are Keens and they look just like this. They are water resistant and lightweight, good for light hiking, which we'll be doing in the jungle portion of our vacation. I plan to wear them on the plane and when we are exploring Maya ruins like these or these. I may even wear them while riding a bike around Ambergris Caye.
This weekend we are also going to measure our suitcases to make sure they will fit on the little puddle jumper plane that will take us from Belize City to San Pedro. It's a 17 minute flight, so it's a small plane. There are pretty tight luggage restrictions. Your luggage can't be too heavy or too big. Should be interesting for us. We pack like we're moving to the place. We'll see how simple we can keep it this year.
Counting this weekend, there are only three Saturdays left until we leave! Woohoo! We are starting to get excited. :D
