#701 happy birthday MT!

Today is my husband's birthday! This is the 25th year that we've celebrated his birthday together. The first birthday I was with him was when he turned 26. It blows me away to think of it like that.

He wanted very specific things for his birthday this year. He wanted some snorkeling equipment, which he purchased for himself on Tuesday. He wants an underwater camera, which we looked for tonight at the SCUBA shop. It will be in next week. He wanted to go to the library (we did); he wanted to go to the camera store (we did) and he wanted to eat at Happy Sumo (we didn't).  Let me explain.

We thought we'd get the underwater camera at the camera store, but they only had cameras that were good to about 13 feet. MT is certified to go about 30 feet, so the camera wouldn't do him any good. That's why we headed to the SCUBA store, which is south and east of the downtown location of Happy Sumo. He decided that he was hungry and didn't want to drive all the way back downtown, so we ended up eating at Chipotle. I love Chipotle, so I was happy. T had never had Chipotle and he really liked it. MT liked it just fine, too. (He had never been there, either.)

I should mention that at the camera store, MT actually went ahead and bought a birthday present for me - a new lens for my camera. It was too extravagant, but I'm a little bit thrilled about it! His reasoning is that we'll be going somewhere so cool where we'll see monkeys in trees and birds we've never seen before and I should have a lens that's capable of capturing what we are seeing. I'm pretty excited to try it out!

MT didn't come away from the day totally empty-handed. I gave him a new sudoku book. I feel terrible, but he wants what he wants and he wants to pick it out. We'll get the underwater camera next week, and some fins for his snorkeling and diving enjoyment.

One thing I did for him was to get him exactly the kind of birthday cake he wanted - an ice cream cake from DQ. I don't eat much ice cream, but I had a slice of this one. It was tasty! I think MT really liked it!

 Happy birthday sweetheart!
