Another big weekend for me!
On Friday night MT and I went up to the Sundance Resort for the final show of the season of the Bluebird Cafe concert series. They definitely saved the best for last! The singer/songwriters were Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, Matt Jenkins. I hadn't heard of any of them, but I have certainly heard of some of the songs they have written which included hits for Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney. Shane and Josh wrote a song that is pretty much constantly on the radio right now called "Body Like a Back Road". Even I know the words to the hook on that one! The three guys were entertaining storytellers and good singers, so it was a really fun evening. It did rain on us again this week, but we were more prepared this time with our rain jackets and a blanket.
On Saturday I decided to sleep in and go to the 10AM WW meeting. I gained a couple pounds over the past couple of weeks. No surprise there. I've been eating out for pretty much every meal for two weeks and not tracking anything or paying any kind of attention at all. I did go to the grocery store this morning and took some time to plan meals for this week. I'm gonna be okay. Also, I think the 10:00 meeting is the gathering for me. I like all the people and it seems like more people get a chance to speak up instead of the two or three who seem to dominate the earlier meeting. It is a nice group.
The two hours I spent at the garden were wonderful. It was a perfect weather day with temperatures in the mid-80s and the best breeze to cool to boot! There were lots of people and everyone was pleasant and friendly.
MT has had a terrible cold since I got home from California, so he has been resting this weekend. He was feeling a bit better on Saturday afternoon, so we went car shopping. I found a car! Tomorrow I will secure the financing and I expect to have it sitting in my driveway tomorrow night, so I'll talk more about it on Tuesday when the deal is done.
Today I have been busy doing - what else? - chores. The house desperately needed to be cleaned, groceries needed to be purchased, sheets needed to be changed, food needed to be prepared for the week ahead, naps needed to be taken and amazingly, all of that happened! There are still a couple of things I would like to do tonight, so I'll sign off for now.
Peace!
