#2128 Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
This evening MT and I went to see the newest film from the pen of J.K. Rowling, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. If it has been awhile since you've seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, I recommend that you watch it before you go see this new film. It's not a strict necessity, but you'll be more familiar with the characters and what they do.
Both of these movies are set in the pre-Harry Potter world, so there are characters that we know about but they are younger than when we know them from the Harry Potter movies.
There is way too much that happens in this movie for me to tell you too much. If you love Harry Potter, you will get a kick out of this movie because there are so many links to that amazing world. We see Hogwarts. We meet young Dumbledore, still persuasive and trying to get young guys to help him get the job done. We meet a character in this film that figures prominently in the Harry Potter series. In addition, the four main characters from the first Fantastic Beasts movie are in this film too.
The effects in this movie are wonderful. The beasts are spectacular. I love the Chinese dragon, the Niffler and of course, Pickett the Bowtruckle. Seeing Hogwarts again was great and gave me a little tingle of joy. There's some great wand battles..Like I said, if you like the world of Potter then you'll probably like this movie. I'm excited to find out what happens next. MT loved the movie. He missed a key scene and when I was telling him about it, he was bummed out and thought he might have to see the movie again.
I only wish there were books to go along with these movies.
