One of the best things about working from home on Monday is that I no longer have Sunday night anxiety. That's a real thing, you know? I'm pretty sure I have written about it before, but I am reminded of my thankfulness every Sunday evening when I still feel relaxed and happy.
It's been a fairly peaceful weekend. Yesterday (Saturday), I was up early to get ready for a haircut appointment. I didn't have any big plans for the day, so Lanna made it look cute, as she does, and I just came on home. It was book club day, and I wasn't done reading all the pages, so I read the rest of the morning. I dozed off a time or two - not that the book was boring, I was just feeling tuckered out! - but I still managed to finish the book in time for our meeting. After that, I did take a serious nap right there on the couch under my weighted blanket. I slept for a couple of hours. Told ya I was tuckered out!
In the evening, I picked up some salads from Chick-fil-A for me and MT. T was at his girlfriend's family Christmas party :) I did some art stuff for the rest of the night until it was time for bed. I was able to stay up kind of late since I'd had a glorious two hour nap.
Saturday was my mama's birthday! She and Lizzie went to San Diego for an overnight get-away. I hope they had a very good time. I wish I could have joined them, but it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully next year, though, because 2023 will be a milestone birthday. :)
I was up early this morning because it was World Cup Final day. Argentina was playing the defending champions, France. I very much wanted Argentina to win because Lionel Messi is awesome. It was an exciting game. France has a player, Kylian Mbappe, who is phenomenal and only 23 years old. The match ended tied 3 - 3, so the winner was decided on penalty kicks. The Argentine keeper blocked two kicks, and Argentina made all of theirs, so Argentina won! HOORAY!
When I get excited, it freaks out my dogs. Harley was jumping all over the place and trying to put my hand in her mouth. It's a weird thing she does. Mac was barking her head off at me.
This afternoon, I have been puttering around the house doing some chores like cleaning the bathroom and doing our bookkeeping. I just went outside for the first time today to take the dogs for a walk in the neighborhood. It's freaking cold out there: 21 degrees F (that's -5 C!) but it was okay. I was bundled up. Plus it was nice because it was just getting dark, so I got to see everyone's Christmas lights. I don't have any outside lights, but I do have a pretty wreath on the front door.
My plan for the next hour or two is to work on a little art project I want to do, then I might watch a movie. It might be more accurate to say that in my mind, I'd like to watch a movie, but the reality might be that I'll crawl in bed and read instead. Who knows? I haven't had dinner yet either. I'm not sure what to do about that. I often don't cook on the weekend. I'll see what MT feels like doing. I'm willing to go get some take-out, if I there's is a drive-through. I don't want to get dressed!
What's coming up next week? I only have to work four days because we have Friday off for the Christmas break. At work, the department I work in will have the annual Christmas breakfast on Thursday, which is always fun. Last year at the breakfast, I got my Keurig Duo and I really like it a lot. I use it nearly every day. Our Tuesday night support group is going to have a little Christmas thing at the meeting. That may be enjoyable. It's a very nice group of people. I want to do a bit more shopping for my menfolk. They are kind of hard to buy for, I think, so I'll just wing it. I asked both of them to tell me something they would like to have, and neither of them gave me any ideas. Does that mean they have everything they could want? We are pretty lucky in that way.
