#2832 weekend wrap up

Happy Superbowl Sunday to those who celebrate!

On Wednesday I was telling you about a little art thing I was playing with for the art group I'm in, and here it is. The theme was healing tree. I did a little Pinterest search for "healing tree." Mostly what came up was drawings of the Tree of Life, and I liked those, but when I saw something like this one, with hearts and curly-ques, I knew it was something I wanted to try. Notice the bright green heart toward the top - it looks like an alien face! LOL

It's been a pretty quiet week for me. Yesterday I felt kind of grumpy. I don't know what brought it on, but I do know that I wasn't very sweet or kind to poor MT. Sometimes I get in a mood and I really should just take a nap or an anxiety pill and just chill the F out rather than stew in my mood. I'll remember that advice to myself next time.

I bought myself a Paris guidebook and I started reading it this week. Since we don't have many days in Paris, I want to familiarize myself with the place as best I can so we can be sure to see the things we really want to see. I'm sure Mom and Lizzie will have ideas, and I have some too, so I figure the more we know, the better off we'll be. I've already learned that some of the major museums, like the Louvre, aren't open on Monday. (We will be there Sunday - Tuesday.) Mom has already said she doesn't care to go into the Louvre, but it's good to know that info anyway, I think. I expect that we will be seeing a lot of things from the outside, not necessarily going inside. That's not a problem in Paris, I wouldn't think. You can certainly go up the Eiffel Tower, if you want, but mostly you just look at it, right? As you can imagine, I am tres excited about this trip!

There's one thing about the guidebook I bought that is bugging me a little, but maybe it's just my own misunderstanding. The author refers to places like the Louvre or the Eiffel Tower as the "sights," and I think it should be "sites." Who am I to correct Rick Steves, right? It seems odd, though. I'm probably wrong.

I've got some stuff to do before I watch the big game and the half-time show. I am making chili and cornbread - such a typical Superbowl meal! I'm also going to make chocolate chip cookies. I haven't made my own cookies for a minute, but I bought a bag of walnut bits at Trader Joe's to go on my yogurt, and there are lots of walnut bits, so cookies with chocolate chips and walnuts sounded pretty great.  I also need to change the sheets on my bed and do a little art project that I don't have any idea on what to draw or paint. I also want to make some wee Valentines for work friends. The art project is due tonight, and I haven't missed one prompt yet. I don't want to miss this one, either, but sometimes the prompts are harder than others for my brain.

What's coming up this week? Well, there's Valentine's Day on Tuesday, of course. We don't do much with that, but I did pick up a sweet treat for MT that I'm sure he will enjoy. I've got a class at work that I'll be doing on Wednesday and Thursday; it's just a couple of hours a day to refresh my knowledge of Outlook. On Thursday, we will have the infamous DIP DAY at the office.

Okay, I'm going to start that chili!
