It's been awhile since we had art time, so I'd like to show you what I've been doing in October. It's been a pretty busy art month because I have been participating in an Instagram challenge called #cozycreatechallenge. It was devised by an artist I've been following, @trishaiford. A lot of people on IG post videos of them doing the art, but that's not for me. I don't mind posting the pics, because I know only seven of you will pay attention, and I can handle that level of scrutiny.
First, here are four pieces I did from prompts given to me by Jill the Artist (Jill Badonsky.) Her prompts are fun, and her group, Underground Highway to Creative Results, is full of nice people.

This next one was my wee calendar practice page. I ended up doing the cat with the jack o' lantern on his head.

These are the #cozycreatechallenge pieces. I do several on a page because I think it's fun that way. You can probably click on a photo if you want to see the page enlarged.
 |
| clock, muffin, books, candle, pies, and a comfy chair |
 |
| blanket, hobby, scarf, woven basket, footwear, acorn, and lamp |
 |
| mugs, sweaters, leaves, spices, and a vintage key with a giant keyhole |
 |
| postage stamp, heirloom, apple, teapot, harvest, and socks |
There are some I like better than others, of course. Some just make me laugh and think I need to find a new hobby. It's like playing golf though: you hit a lot of shots (if you are like me) and if you hit one or two good ones, it makes you feel like you know what you're doing and you want to keep hitting. So I'm going to keep drawing and painting and hoping for those one or two good ones. Any time with a pen or brush in my hand is fun, so I'm thankful for that.
Have a great week!
