#509 lunch with Brigid

Apparently it is possible for some people to burn 1200 calories in an hour. My friend Brian says he does it regularly on his elliptical machine. Hmm. I must not be pushing myself very hard. I'll try to step that up.

I had the best treat today! My friend Brigid moved back to Pocatello to work and go to school and she's on spring break this week. She came down to SLC for the day to do a little shopping and basically just get out of her town, so we met for lunch. :o) We went to a little restaurant downtown called Eva. It wasn't especially fancy, but the food was good and of course, the best part was chatting with my friend.

I don't go downtown very much because the parking situation isn't really fun and there's a LOT of construction down there (the company MT works for is working on a HUGE project downtown) and the place is just congested. But there are about a bazillion little cafes and restaurants downtown. Might be worth exploring sometime. It was nice to go somewhere different for lunch.

Today was Day 14 of 90 in my workout program! Two weeks down, 11 to go. I'm feeling good about it, but I have to say, I was depressed this morning. When I stepped on my scale today, it showed a bigger number than I've seen in awhile and it made me feel really sad. I haven't been eating badly and I have been working out - although probably not burning as many calories as I should. Then I put on a pair of pants I bought around Christmas. When I got them, they felt a little tight around the middle and a little fitted around the buttocks. This morning they felt just right - not tight, not loose, just comfortable and right. Then I forgot about the number on the scale until just now. I'm gonna be ok!
