Today was an excited day for T. He's been anxiously awaiting the release of the video game "Uncharted 3" and it came out today. As soon as MT got home from work, they were at Game Stop. T texted me a few times about how excited he was to play. I could tell he was happy because he used many exclamation points!!! He hasn't beaten the game (yet) but he says that so far it is pretty good.
The first term is over at MJHS, and T did well on his report card. He has nine classes and earned seven As and two Bs. Good work!
In one of his classes, a requirement is to do three hours of community service each term. Last term we just gathered some food and made a donation to the Utah Food Bank. This term, we actually donated some time at the Food Bank. We went in last Saturday to the warehouse and sorted the donations into different boxes. There are eight or nine categories like "canned fruit", "dry foods" and "cereal, snacks and sweets" to name a few. The donations come in these huge collection boxes, and we take the food out of the huge box and put it in the smaller boxes. Once a small box is full, we move it to a pallet of similar items - like all the canned fruit boxes go together. I'm not 100% sure what happens after that.
We worked alongside a nice family: a mom, dad and three daughters. They were there because one of the daughters also has community service for a class (she's in high school) but the mom told me they donate time there regularly anyway. They were really nice and we boxed up a LOT of food.
T did a great job. The work isn't hard, but it goes pretty fast. The boxes get heavy, too. T muscled right up and moved the full boxes to the pallets. I was really proud of him.
Happy November everyone!
