It's been a wet, chilly weekend in SLC. The sun did come out late this afternoon, but it wasn't very warm.
On Friday night I stayed up until I finished a book I had borrowed from the library that was actually due on Friday. Because of that, I slept in a little on Saturday and went to the 10AM WW meeting. I achieved the weight goal for the week that I had set for myself, bringing my overall total loss to 55 lbs. I was so happy I did a little shimmy dance right there at the scale, causing a ripple of laughter and scattered applause.
After WW, I went directly to Soulstice Spa where Mckenzie gave me a wonderful pedicure. Pedicures are the best! The pedicure I got included a minty mask and a hot towel wrap around my tootsies. Heavenly! My toes are very happy with their hot pink polish.Flip flop season can officially commence!
When I got home, MT was deep into gathering paperwork for our tax appointment that is on Thursday. Actually, he was taking a break and watching movie after movie on the FX channel. T was in his room watching something on Netflix, and I was in my room watching The Masters golf tournament and reading. Eventually T went to hang out with some friends. MT was still watching movies and I decided to go to the grocery store. The rain started to pour down, so I took a nap instead. When I woke up about half an hour later, the rain had stopped, so I did end up going to the store. The scene at the grocery store between 8:30 and 9:30 on a Saturday night is pretty mellow. I kind of enjoyed it.
This morning MT and I were up fairly early so we decided to go have some breakfast at Penny Ann's Cafe. They make good pancakes and there is ALWAYS a wait, but the line wasn't too long this morning since we were early. After breakfast we zipped over to Costco. MT is going to be building a shed for a man who thinks that it might be a good idea to buy a gazebo or two and have MT build walls for it, and a roof because he doesn't like the roof that comes with the gazebo. It's about the dumbest idea I have ever heard, but MT wanted to look at the gazebo and just see if the idea makes any sense. He decided it doesn't, so he'll have to explain to his future customer why it won't work. The trip to Costco wasn't a total bust. I bought salmon and some new walking shoes. Win!
Back at home, I gathered up some tax info for MT, then I decided I wanted to go see A Quiet Place. T came with me and I was glad he did so we could do "jump scares" together and whisper about how creepy and intense and awesome the show was. It was so good! I texted Lizzie to tell her about it and she was just about to go see it herself. (She also liked it.)
I got home in time to see Patrick Reed win The Masters. I was hoping Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth or Rickie Fowler would win, but good for Patrick Reed. After the golf tournament, MT and I turned on the Jazz/Lakers game and I cooked while the Jazz clinched a playoff spot! YAY!!!
I made two dishes tonight: chicken enchiladas with white sauce and cheddar BBQ meatloaf muffins. Both are very easy to make and will easily provide leftovers for us to munch on this week. T loves the enchiladas and I'm happy to make something that I know he likes and will eat. The kid is so skinny!
There are a couple of things I'm looking forward to this week. T and I will be seeing Justin Timberlake in concert on Thursday. On Saturday I get to travel to southern CA to visit my mom and sister. The weather looks like it will be very nice in SoCal over the weekend. There is rain and possible snow in the forecast for SLC this week. Looks like my toes will have their official debut in Long Beach.
Here's hoping y'all had an excellent weekend and that you have something to look forward to this week. Be safe and be kind. More words on Tuesday!
