The best thing about today was that I took the day off from work! T had a dentist appointment this morning (three hours long!), and I had a doctor appointment this afternoon, so I just used a sick day and made the best of it. I didn't really do any chores around the house; I mean, I loaded the dishwasher and threw in a load of laundry, but that was it.
In the morning, I took the dogs for a walk at the park by the house, then I got some coffee and a muffin. I read a book and had breakfast, and it was great. While T was at the dentist, I took a leisurely shower and read some more. I did have a credit union meeting at noon, so I logged on for that. By that time, T was done at the dentist. As you can imagine, he was numb and sore, so he went back to bed. I went to Chick-fil-A for a salad, brought it home and, yep, read some more. Then it was time to go to my doctor appointment.
This evening the book club had a zoom meeting with the author of the last book we read, Marlon Peterson. It was an interesting discussion. I always appreciate it when Ekpe brings in the authors to talk to us about the book.
Tomorrow MT is going on vacation for a week. I helped him download his boarding pass and pack his suitcase. He is going to the Outer Banks, North Carolina with his mom, step-dad, brother and sister and a bunch of other people. I think there will be ten people in the house. They rented the same place we all stayed at a few years ago. I'm not going with them. I wanted my first vacation after lockdown to be a visit with my mom and sister. The main thing I'm jealous about on MT's trip is walking on that gorgeous beach. I hope that he calls me on FaceTime while he's walking on the beach at least once.
Sometimes there's just nothing better than a bonus day to yourself. It was a great day!
