#2576 weekend wrap-up

Oops! I skipped writing on Friday, the fourth, because after I finished talking to my Mamacita on the phone, I sat out on the deck with MT. It has been very hot here, and the AC has struggled to keep the house cool. Out on the deck Friday night, the air was cooler as there was a bit of a breeze. The breeze helped keep the mosquitos off of us, and we sat out there for a good 90 minutes. The dogs loved it. They ran around the yard, then laid on the deck, then ran around some more. It was pleasant.

As Paul Simon sings in “Have a Good Time”, yesterday it was my birthday. I hung one more year on the line. I celebrated a milestone birthday. It feels kinda weird to think, and to say out loud, that I am 55. To my son, or some (most) of my co-workers, 55 is old, but I (mostly) don’t feel old. I still feel somewhat vibrant and relevant. Here’s what I did on my birthday:

Took the dogs to the dog park
Weighed in at WW
Got a free drink from Starbucks
Read through birthday greetings and replied to everyone (I hope) on Facebook
Got a few birthday texts
Got my hair cut (looks the same, but the ends are not as straggly)
Went to lunch with MT
Got a birthday tree from Lowe’s - a 12 foot tall sugar maple! This was MT’s gift, plus he planted it.
Took a nap
Had snacks that MT prepared out on the deck with my fellas and my dogs
Talked to my mom and my sister (twice!)

This afternoon I got a pedicure, and then T took me to see the movie Cruella. He paid for everything, including drinks and popcorn.

It was all exactly how I wanted it to go, and I was/am happy.

I hope you had a great weekend too!
