Sunday night is here again already! The weekend flew by, as they do. At least the weather was nice. I can't say the same for the whole week. It's been a wild one.
On Monday and Tuesday, it snowed and snowed. This photo was Monday morning.
By Wednesday afternoon, the sky looked like this:
Mac was soaking up the final snow day (I hope!) on the deck...
Thursday morning, there was still snow in the yard, so the pooper scooper couldn't come to clean up the yard, but by Thursday afternoon, most of the snow was melted and the yard was a muddy mess. The dogs still had outside playtime, but I had to guide Stella's frisbee retrieval away from the mud puddles.
Friday was nice, and the weekend was gorgeous! The dogs and I sat outside on the deck yesterday afternoon. Well, Harley and I sat on the deck. Stella chased her toy, and Mac rolled around in the grass with her squeaky ball. I even rolled up my pant legs to let the sun kiss my white, but freshly shaved legs. It felt so good! I need to remember to put some sunscreen by the back door so that I will have no excuse not to apply sunscreen before I go outside on a sunny day. I'm going to get some right now so I don't forget!
DONE!
MT and I went to an anthropology lecture on Tuesday night. It was sponsored by the Natural History Museum of Utah. I had my doubts about going because of the weather, but it worked out fine. MT drove, and he had the truck in 4WD, so we both felt confident. He drove cautiously and carefully, and I was glad he took care of us. The lecture was interesting and informative. I love to hear about people doing cool stuff out in the world. It makes me feel kind of insignificant, and I guess that's okay, too.
Speaking of (in)significance, April 8 marked by 27th year at Granite. I started working there on April 8, 1996. Holy cow! In all that time, I have only updated my resume twice, and just had one interview for a job at a different company. I've had lots of roles at Granite, all in the business department. The job at Granite is only the second full-time job I've ever had. Is that strange? Maybe it is, I don't know. I guess I have mostly always been happy enough there that I didn't feel the need to look around for another situation. Maybe I'm loyal, or maybe I'm complacent. Probably a bit of both. Whichever it is, I am okay with what I'm doing there, and I'm looking forward to retiring in the next few years. I think I will be a very happy retiree.
I took Stella to the groomer on Saturday afternoon for a bath and brush. She was a bit smelly and had little dirt balls clinging to her belly fur. She also had some tangled mats that were not fully removed during the brush out. I'll have to take her back after vacation for a bath and trim. She smells a lot better and the hair on her head is really soft and fluffy.
Today I traded out my winter clothes for my spring/summer clothes. My word, I have a LOT of clothes. It's ridiculous. I say that every time I swap out my clothes. I seriously have a tremendous amount of t-shirts, mostly from Old Navy. I did decide to give some to Goodwill, but there's still a lot. I definitely don't have a capsule wardrobe going on at this time. Maybe that will be a goal to work through this summer. We'll see.
What I was going to say is that now that I have my warm weather clothes out, I can really think through the clothes I want to take on vacation with me. I'm much better at doing a capsule wardrobe on vacation since I have limited space. I kind of have a color palette in mind, so all the things I have will mix and match, like adult Garanimals. (Remember those clothes for little kids? It's a great idea.)
Here are a couple of art things I did this week.
You know how we had a full moon this week and it was called the Pink Moon? The art prompt was to come up with a name for a full moon. Here's mine. I call it the Bunny Moon. What am I looking forward to next week? Well, Red Butte Garden will announce the summer concert line-up on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday, Mom, Lizzie, and I will chat about things we want to do on vacation and probably book a couple of things, so that will be fun. The bloom log at the Garden is ready to be picked up, so I'll head up there on Thursday to get it and check out the snow situation. I may be recording blooms as early as next weekend!
Have a great week!
