simple Saturday

I woke up really early (5:00) while MT was getting ready for work. I was up for about 1 1/2 hours before I just gave up and went back to sleep until 10:00. Heavenly! Most of what was left of the morning was spent playing on my computer, setting up my nano, burning discs of the songs I've purchased from iTunes and downloading pictures from my camera. T and I went to the library - I picked up 2 books - and did a couple other random things.

This evening MT and I went to a dinner with my boss and his wife. It was a work event, and I enjoyed spending time with M and B. T stayed at their house with their 4 year old and the babysitter. He was kind of anxious about it, but I think everything went just fine. They watched movies and ate some Halloween candy.

Tomorrow and for the next 10 days we will be cleaning up the house and getting ready for Thanksgiving. This year MT's side of the family will be coming here for Turkey Day. Altogether we are expecting 14 people, including the 3 of us. Needless to say, I am a little anxious about having so many people over for the weekend. MT told me "not to worry about it" but I think that's a little crazy. Of course I'm going to worry! I want everyone to enjoy themselves and I want to put on a nice meal and have everyone be comfortable and happy. The best way for to take on this challenge is to make lists. I have a list of all the rooms in the house and what I think needs to be done in each. I have a list of the days I expect people to be here and what I will feed them each day for each meal. Next I have a list of each day leading up to Thanksgiving and what I would like to accomplish relating to T-Day on each day. It sounds nuts but it helps me feel more on top of what is going on.
