I played golf on Saturday and on Monday. Both times were really fun. Saturday was our employee golf tournament. It was a blast. I didn't play very well, which is to be expected, really, since I haven't played since June. I have gone to the range a few times, but it's not like actually playing. The people I played with were awesomely fun; it's probably the best time I've had at that tournament.
On Monday I played at a course I've never played before and it really might be the hardest course I've played. There was lots of water and sand traps everywhere. Lots of times I didn't really know where I was aiming. Again, not such a good day for me. Plus it was very very hot. I was absolutely wiped out when it was over. Still, nothing beats a game of golf on a workday! My partners were cool on Monday, too.
I've really missed playing golf. I haven't played much in the past couple of years, just the company tournaments. I haven't gone out to a course by myself and just played. I'm not sure why, but I need to get back in the "swing" of it. (hee hee)
T is back in school and at this time of year, that can only mean one thing: cookie dough sales fundraiser. T has one goal this year, and it's not necessarily to raise lots of money for the school. His goal is to beat Schwenke. This Schwenke kid has been the school's top seller for three years. He typically sells about two more units than T does. T is on fire this year, though. I'm pretty sure he'll beat Schwenke. Especially because Schwenke is on vacation this week and we turn in our orders on Friday. I'm pretty sure the school will allow Schwenke to sell during another track's time. I can't imagine they wouldn't want the money this kid brings in!
I'm pretty sure that I will hit my first weight loss goal this weekend when I weigh in on Saturday! That's good because I really want some new clothes and a plate of Mexican food (with cheese and lots of it!) I know it's not right to reward myself with food; it's just that Mexican is my favorite food and I made a deal with myself that I wouldn't have enchiladas until I lost 25 lbs.
Here's something that made me say, "I suck at this!": Last night T had a social studies homework assignment. It was a timeline of his life, so he'd written down every year from 1998 until now. Under each year, he had to write something that had happened to him. Of course, those baby years are pretty hard to remember, so we looked at his baby book. I sucked at that. It's incomplete and I was sad about it. I've done a little better with his School Years book, but I kinda suck at that, too. We looked through some photo albums - remember those? - and that jogged some memories, but since I've gone digital, I suck at the photo albums, too. T says that we are going to create photo albums for 2006, 2007 and 2008 and we'll work on it this weekend. I'll keep you posted on our progress.
Speaking of photos, I'm looking forward to taking photography classes beginning tomorrow night! Kelsie bought a cool camera and part of the package was photography lessons and she can bring a friend. How lucky am I? I've got this cool camera, and I only know how to work it a little bit. I'm excited to learn about all the little symbols around the wheel thing and how to work it a bit better! Thanks Kelsie!
This post turned out to be a little longer and more random than I expected, but there it is. Watch the Olympics beginning on Friday 8/8/08! I heart the Olympics. I'm sure I'll get into that another time.
