#328 third vacation day - Disneyland

T and I spent the day at the Magic Kingdom today. We had big plans to get there when the park opened and stay until it closed. We also planned to ride each of the roller coasters three times each. None of those things happened. We still had fun, though.

T slept in a little, so we didn't leave the house until around 9:00. That still left us plenty of time, we figured, so we weren't too concerned. We started out the day on T's favorite ride, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We rode Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, the coaster in Toon Town, the Matterhorn (twice), and Space Mountain. With our first round complete, we had a little lunch. T had a hot dog, and I had a gigantic Disneyland corn dog. The corn dog was good for the first couple of bites, and I should have stopped. Why? Why did I keep eating that corn dog? It hurt me later, let me tell you.

We started on our second round of rides, but with much less gusto than the first round. I was starting to limp a little and T was just starting to wilt. He actually suggested leaving the park after we ate lunch. We made it around the second time, changing the Haunted Mansion for Pirates and adding the Buzz Lightyear ride. My sister was thinking about joining us in the evening, but I had to tell her that we weren't going to be staying.

I felt bad about leaving the park before the fireworks and the Fantasmic show. I have to face the facts: I'm getting old. I also have to face the fact that my son is one of the most impatient people I know. He has no tolerance at all for waiting in a line. He sulked for the entire half hour we waited in the Space Mountain line for our second ride. We didn't talk at all during that time. Isn't that weird?

Anyway, we're home now and I'm already getting ready for bed. How pathetic is that?!
