#413 HBT

Last night Osi was playing outside for a long time. When it was time for her to come in, she was laying in the grass and there was something in front of her that I couldn't recognize. Was it her rawhide bone? Was it a random piece of fabric or a glove that she found in the yard? (T had a ski glove in the yard at one point, but I thought we'd thrown it away. Maybe we didn't.) Anyway, it was dark enough that I couldn't figure out what she was so lovingly watching over. She came right in and we went to bed.

This morning when I let her out before I went to the gym, she went right over to The Thing in the Yard. Again, it was dark and I didn't investigate. She came back in and I went to the gym.

When I got home from the gym, she wanted to go back out and she went right to The Thing. I decided I'd better go see what it was because I could now see that it certainly wasn't the bone or a glove. As I got closer, I saw scrawny bird legs connected to a nasty headless torso. EWWW!! Osi is a good dog and when I told her "Leave it", she did, though reluctantly.

Now what am I supposed to do? I thought about telling T to make sure Osi stayed away from the Headless Bird Torso, and to tell MT to throw it out when he got home, but that didn't seem right. Maybe I should take Osi to doggie daycare to keep her away from it, but then T would be home alone and that's not cool. The only thing for me to do was to dispose of it myself. EWWW.

I armed myself with a snow shovel and a bucket and I scooped the Headless Bird Torso into the bucket. I carried the bucket an arm's length away from my body and tossed the HBT into the garbage, gagging slightly the entire time.

That's the end of my story. This isn't much of a story, I know, but I guess I'm pleased with myself for actually taking care of the problem. I did make MT and T look at HBT in the garbage tonight so they could praise my courage and strong stomach. :-)

Not much of a story, but that's all I got. Good night!
