#434 speak up America and a meatloaf recipe

I exercised my American right to vote tonight. It was pretty quick for me. Some people stood at the voting booth for a long time. What's the matter, people? Didn't you study up on the candidates, the Propositions and the Amendments prior to going to the polls? Yeah, me either, but I knew how I would vote (straight party) and I knew enough about the one of the two propositions we had on the ballot here in WVC to know how I'd vote there. Unless I've heard bad stuff about the judges, I usually just vote for them to stay. Maybe I'm not the most responsible voter, but at least I do it.

The proposition I know about is called Parks and Trails. It is a slight tax increase to keep some open space in the form of parks and to pave trails for hiking and biking. I'm a big fan of open space. I'd rather see a park than another strip mall. Here's something I found interesting. There's a greenhouse right across the street from my house. You'd think they would like parks and open space, but no. On their glowing red sign board that shines right in my kitchen, the words VOTE NO ON PROP 3 scroll by all day and all night. I just think it's strange. They have a sod farm. Maybe they'll get to supply the sod for a park. If they do, I would laugh and say, "Hypocrites."

That's all I've got for today! I'm making a really yummy meatloaf for dinner tonight. (Isn't meatloaf just about the ugliest food word ever? Yuck. But it tastes so good!) The meatloaf has green peppers, onions and corn mixed with the meat and some taco seasoning. You put down a layer of the meat mixture, then top it with a couple of slices of cheese, then press the remainder of the meat mixture on top of that. Then you pour about half a cup of salsa over the top and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, top the meatloaf with some shredded cheese and return to the oven for 15 minutes. It's gonna be yummy! I'll serve it with the rest of the corn - you only use half a cup in the recipe, and some mashed potatoes.

Wow I'm hungry.

Since I didn't write much at all in October, I guess I'll have a few things to catch the seven of you up on. The three of you that I talk to frequently will already know stuff, but please read along. :D

If you haven't already done so and you live in the USA - GO VOTE. It's important. And if you don't vote, don't bitch about the government.

I'm sassy tonight, right?! Sorry about that. I promise to be more kind and gentle tomorrow. Maybe.
