#1024 I thought it was awesome

My son told me that today I could only possibly write about one thing:

Breaking Bad

If you've been reading this blog over the past few weeks, you probably have figured out that I have become a little obsessed with the AMC show "Breaking Bad". Last night was the final episode of the series. I thought it ended perfectly. I liked everything about that last episode. Everything that I thought should happen and wanted to happen, did. Fantastic.

I have a couple of friends at work who are total BBaddicts. Part of what interested me in the show was listening to them talk about it. I couldn't wait to hear their opinion about the final episode. Almost without exception, the critics, the Twitter followers, the fans seemed to really like the ending. I was looking forward to talking with my friendly co-workers about this great show.

When I asked them about it, though, they made that face. You know, the face of a person who is just a bit disappointed. I've seen that face on my kid at Christmas when he didn't get every last thing he wanted. That face.

I tried not to do it, but I actually rolled my eyes at them when they made the face. I asked them what the episode was missing, in their opinion. "Um...well every episode was a cliffhanger, and there was no cliffhanger."

Dude! It was the FINALE! Did you want to be left wondering what happened to them? That would be a cliffhanger. Would you want that? Would you want to wonder what happens to Walt, or would you rather just KNOW?

"And it wasn't very exciting."

Ugh. Most of the show had to be about Walt tying up loose ends, but the last 20 minutes were totally exciting. I mentioned the last 20 minutes to the guys.

"Yeah, that was pretty cool."

So what more do you want, guys?

They came back at me with this, "Well, have you been watching from the start?"

No.

""Then you just wouldn't understand."

LAME. I do understand. I do understand the relationships between Walt and Jesse and Walt and his family. No, I do not know about the relationships with some of the other characters because they were DEAD before I started watching, but I know that those relationships affected Walt and Jesse. I get it even though I only watched eight of the 62 episodes, plus some random episodes here and there. I think I got enough out of the last seven episodes to really appreciate the final episode, perhaps even better than some people who watched all 62 shows.

Sheesh.

Just for that, I'm going to start at the start and watch all of the shows and I'm about 100% positive that I will STILL think the ending was as perfect as it could be. So there, smug BBaddict co-workers.

That's all I got for today. Tomorrow is October, so I'll get back at ya in a couple days.

Did you watch the show after the final that was called "Talking Bad"? It had the creator of Breaking Bad eplaining about the final show, how he wanted to tie all loose ends, and that the whole cast of the show liked the way it ended. I even watched it )
