I thought it would be fun to post a Throwback Thursday photo. I chose this one:
In May 2009, MT, T, Jake, Linda and I went on a road trip up to Yellowstone then through Cody, Wyoming, back up through Cook City, Montana and back into Yellowstone. I don't remember how long we were gone; it must have been over Memorial Day weekend, but I can't say for sure. It was a pretty epic trip and we had a lot of fun.
The photo above was taken at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming. It is a beautiful collection of five (or so) museums. There's one about Buffalo Bill, another about animals of the west, another museum that is a massive gun collection, and I think there's a Native American exhibit as well. It was really neat and we spent most of the day there.
As we were leaving (or arriving - I can't remember! It was five years ago!) Buffalo Bill showed up. Well, of course he's not the real Buffalo Bill. Buffalo Bill died in 1917. Still, I was dang excited, as you can see by the gigantic goofy smile on my face. I seem to get really excited about things.
I wanted all the family to feel the love, so I had everyone gather around Buffalo Bill.
Notice how none of them look half as excited as I look in my photo. Linda looks kind of terrified. (click on the picture to make it larger and check out her face)
I've got about a jillion photos from this trip and looking through them made me smile. I don't have too many photos of us people, but there are a lot of landscape and animal photos.
I want to go back to Yellowstone. I bet it wouldn't take much to convince my husband to go on a little road trip!
