My nephew Garrett is graduating from high school tonight. His brother Jake graduated from college a week or so ago. The graduations made me think of my own graduations and since it's been 30 years (30 YEARS!!!!!????) since I graduated from high school, I decided to post this pic for Throwback Thursday.
That's my grandma, Opal (my dad's mom) standing there with me in our living room in Burley, ID. I really don't remember anything at all about my high school graduation. I kinda remember sitting in the gym, and I must have walked across the stage and accepted my diploma. Come to think of it, I don't know where that piece of paper is at all. Probably my mom has it.
I don't remember all that much about high school in general. I played some sports; I had a couple of good friends. I can't name a favorite teacher or a class that made a big impression on me. I was a pretty good student. Well, in my defense, it was a pretty long time ago and I sometimes have trouble remembering what I did a couple of days ago. I don't think the fact that I can't remember much about high school means anything bad. College was more fun and I remember some stuff about those four years. :)
