#1188 relaxin' on Memorial Day

Today has been really nice. I woke up fairly early, but stayed in bed reading a book, which I later finished. I puttered around the house while the boys were outside doing a little yardwork. MT came to the grocery store with me - always more expensive when he comes along, but there was a purpose. For his birthday/Memorial Day meal, he wanted steak and lobster. I told him I was all for it, but he had to cook it. I am a terrible griller.

We bought a couple of packages of lobster tails and a couple of steaks and he took care of the cooking. I love the taste of lobster, but as with most seafood in a shell, it's a lot of work for a little reward. MT and I each had one tail; T had two, but he didn't have steak. I'm probably going to have to cook something else for him later. In addition, I made MT's favorite cake - a chocolate bundt cake with fudge filling - to celebrate his birthday. What a meal! And did I mention that I sat out on the deck and sipped a rum and coke? I did. I found a delicious lemon/lime flavored rum, Bacardi Limon, that tastes A-mazing in Coke Zero.

All that's left now is to clean up the kitchen, finish up the laundry and watch some basketball. I feel relaxed and happy (and full!).

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I finished a book! Check out the 2014 Reading Page.
