#1251 three things

I don't have anything really interesting to write about tonight, so I'm going to come up with three things that are on my mind to share.

1. One of our rentals apparently has a gas leak. At least that's what the gas company person said. The house had to be evacuated and the gas company person told the tenants that it was a good thing he was there when he was or the whole house could have blown up. MT called a guy that his company works with and asked for his help in finding the leak and repairing it. The guy, we'll call him Brandon, said that it seemed pretty coincidental that the gas company person would find a leak and that the tenants hadn't smelled any gas. Hopefully everything will be ok and MT will be able to repair the problem.

2. I applaud the Baltimore Ravens football team for terminating the contract of Ray Rice. A video of Rice punching his then-fiancee in the face, causing her to lose consciousness was released this morning. The NFL had not previously seen the video, but knew about the act. The commissioner of the NFL, Roger Goodell, decided to suspend Rice two games for the violent act. Today, after viewing the video, Rice's team decided to just let him go and shortly after, the NFL decided to suspend Rice from the game indefinitely. I watched the video and it was awful. The woman was pushing and slapping at Rice and he just punched her and down she went. Apparently there is another video of him dragging her out of the elevator. Ghastly. By the way, Rice has since married the woman.

3. A couple of weeks ago I bought a pretty flowering plant from Trader Joe's. The plant is sitting in my office window and has bloomed. It's a rudbeckia.

There you go. Three completely random and unrelated things that were on my mind today. How was your Monday?
