#1281 Sportstober Thursday!
Game 5 of the National League Championship just ended in spectacular fashion with a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth! It looked like pure madness down on that field. What a way to send the team to the World Series!!
The World Series starts on Tuesday at Kansas City. Yep, that's right - the teams in the World Series are the teams I had hoped would get there: the Royals and the Giants. I will be rooting for the Giants in the Series although I am enamored with the Royals and their amazing run through the post-season. They haven't lost a game. Both the Giants and the Royals were Wild Cards in their leagues. Wild cards rule! It's all about who gets hot at the right time, and both of these teams are definitely hot. Should be a great Series.
In Corvallis, Oregon it is half-time and we are having a defensive battle. The score is 6-6. The only points have come from field goals. Defense is fun but I would like to see Utah bust loose for a good touchdown run.
The Jazz are also playing tonight against the Lakers in LA. I might start flipping over to that game during commercial breaks in the Utes game.
I hope I can stay awake for the whole football game. I haven't been getting enough sleep or sleeping well when I do get to sleep, so I'm dragging. The other night I was sleeping pretty soundly when I suddenly woke up thinking, "Item 2170!" I might have even said it out loud. Item 2170 is one of the rock products that is sold at the plant at my work. Why was I thinking of rock inventory at 2:36 am? Probably because there is a bit of stress there. I dozed fitfully for a couple of hours after that, then slept hard until my alarm went off at 5:30. Brutal.
Also, I got a flu shot in my left arm yesterday and the injection site is sore and hot. It's very unpleasant.
Ok, that's all for tonight. I'm going to watch football. Go Utes!!
