#1287 a milestone day

Today marked another milestone in our family. Nearly every school day for the past 11 years, I have driven T to school. Today he drove himself. It was bittersweet for me. On one hand, it was bound to happen and I'm proud of him and happy to be able to provide him with a car and all that. On the other hand, though, my baby is growing up and getting more independent. As a parent, that's what you want, of course, but why did it happen so fast?

I admit that even though I smiled at him and gave him a hug before he walked out the door (with a big grin on his face), I got a little misty-eyed when he pulled out onto the road. I'm such a baby!
