#1289 T's big week

Wow! It's November! What a year this has been so far and now already into the holiday months. We are hosting Thanksgiving at our house later this month, so I will be trying out some new recipes over the next few weeks as I plan the menu. I'll be sure to let you know what I'm cooking and how the preparations are coming along.

The past week has been pretty major for T. He got his driver's license a week ago Thursday and on Tuesday I turned over the keys to my Toyota to my son. He drove to school for the first time on Tuesday and he has been a happy dude since that day.

Thursday was the end of the first term at his school, so he didn't have classes on Friday. Thursday night he went to a performance of all the musical groups at the school - his friends are in show choir, so he was there to support them. On Friday he spent most of the day at his friend Trent's house and then walked along while his friends took their younger siblings trick or treating. After that, he went to another friend's house where they had a bonfire.

When he got home last night, he was super-smiley and happy. He told us a little about his night and also let us know that he now has a girlfriend. We'll call her KG. First car. First girlfriend. First kiss.

If that wasn't enough, he also got his first report card of his junior year. Straight As. :)

And did I mention that he and I went to the Jazz season opener on Wednesday night?

It's been a big week for my boy.  I hope he keeps up all the positive vibes!

It's National Blog Posting Month (NABLOPOMO) so I'm setting a goal to post every day this month. I can tell you right now that some posts will be better than others, but it's good to have a goal to write every day.
